On Friday, 9 November 2018, in the evening at 21:27, in Vilnius, on Savanorių pr. near No. 74, at the junction with Tūkstantmečio street, a Mitsubishi Carisma hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 46-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi (26 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.88‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
