On Monday, 19 November 2018, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kaunas, on Kernavės street near No. 33, a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW and an Opel Zafira. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 16-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 30 km/h.
