On Tuesday, 1 January 2019, at night at 0:30, in Tauragės district municipality, Taurų village, on Alėjos street, at the junction with Putinų street, an Opel Vectra ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 18-year-old driver of the Opel, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the weather was clear, the road surface was wet.
