On Friday, 25 January 2019, at night at 23:15, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 102), a Toyota Yaris hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 63-year-old driver of the Toyota (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 80 km/h.
