On Saturday, 13 April 2019, in the afternoon at 14:19, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 11.80), a collision with a motorcycle occurred. The collision involved a motorcycle, a Schmitz SKO 24 registered in Latvia, a Volvo FH registered in Latvia and a Toyota Avensis. One person died — the 12-year-old driver of a motorcycle. The accident was caused by the 12-year-old driver of a motorcycle, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He had no driving licence. All drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
