On Thursday, 9 May 2019, in the afternoon at around 15:00, in Kauno city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 99), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Ford Fiesta and a vehicle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 77-year-old driver of the Ford (17 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
