On Sunday, 26 May 2019, in the evening at 22:19, in Vilnius, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Prūsų street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Honda Civic 5DR and a Chevrolet Cruze. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Honda (less than a year of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.75‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
