On Monday, 3 June 2019, in the evening at 19:53, in Vilniaus district municipality, on the Vilnius–Utena main road (kilometre 33.90), a Mercedes-Benz S 320 CDI ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz (14 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.02‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
