On Saturday, 8 June 2019, in the evening at 22:54, in Vilniaus city municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 16.30), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mercedes-Benz and a KIA Motors Sportage. One person was injured — the 68-year-old driver of the KIA Motors (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 27-year-old driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who failed to give way when changing direction. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 100 km/h.
