On Monday, 29 July 2019, in the afternoon at 16:18, in Klaipėdos district municipality, Šilininkų village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 206), a head-on collision occurred. The accident was caused by the 30-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (12 years of driving experience), who entered the oncoming traffic lane. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
