On Wednesday, 21 August 2019, in the afternoon at 12:19, in Klaipėdos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Kaunas–Klaipėda (d. pusė) main road (kilometre 290.70), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Citroen Jumper registered in Latvia and a Volvo S60. One person was injured — a 18-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 31-year-old driver of the Citroen (10 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when changing direction. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 130 km/h.
