On Sunday, 8 September 2019, in the evening at 21:10, in Kaunas, on Ašmenos 1-oji street near No. 14, a collision with a stationary vehicle occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530 D, a Nissan Primera, a Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet, a Toyota Corolla Verso and a Toyota Corolla. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. All drivers were sober. A 19-year-old passenger of the BMW was drunk (1.16‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
