On Thursday, 18 June 2020, in the evening at 20:25, in Kaunas, on Verkių street, at the junction with Ašmenos 1-oji street, a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Citroen and an Opel. Two people were injured — the 26-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 70-year-old passenger of the Citroen (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 76-year-old driver of the Citroen (34 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. Both drivers were sober.
