On Saturday, 23 November 2019, in the afternoon at around 12:00, in Šilutės district municipality, Gaidelių village, on the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Šilutė–Klaipėda national road (kilometre 174.70), a head-on collision occurred. The collision involved a Subaru Legacy Outback and a Temsa Safari registered in Russia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Subaru (4 years of driving experience), who was driving a vehicle with faults the traffic rules prohibit driving with. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
