On Monday, 16 December 2019, at night at around 4:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 44.73), a Toyota Picnic registered in Belarus ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 41-year-old driver of the Toyota (12 years of driving experience), who exceeded the speed set by traffic rules or road signs.
