On Wednesday, 18 December 2019, in the afternoon at 16:26, in Kaunas, on Karaliaus Mindaugo pr. near No. 8, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Hyundai. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (14 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. She was drunk (1.38‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was twilight, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
