On Friday, 10 January 2020, in the morning at 7:50, in Plungės district municipality, on J. Tumo-Vaižganto street near No. 81, a Volkswagen Passat hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 17-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 61-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (38 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober.
