On Saturday, 18 January 2020, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kaunas, on Žemaičių pl., at the junction with Šarkuvos street, a Citroen Xsara hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the Citroen, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
