On Monday, 27 January 2020, in the afternoon at 16:43, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Raubonys national road (kilometre 5.34), a collision occurred. The collision involved a BMW 530, a Toyota Avensis, a Volkswagen Golf and a BMW 3ER Reihe. One person died — the 63-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (was not wearing a seatbelt). Two people were injured — a 21-year-old passenger of the BMW 530 (hospitalized) and the 49-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 22-year-old driver of the BMW 530 (4 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. All drivers were sober.
