On Saturday, 15 August 2020, in the evening at 19:11, in Biržų district municipality, on the Biržai–Raubonys national road (kilometre 3.80), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Mazda 3 and a Volkswagen Golf. Two people were injured — the 61-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (hospitalized) and a 86-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Mazda, who violated overtaking rules. He had no driving licence. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
