On Saturday, 1 February 2020, in the morning at around 10:00, in Varėnos district municipality, on the Vilnius–Varėna–Gardinas main road (kilometre 66.50), a BMW ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober.
