On Friday, 10 April 2020, in the evening at 22:50, in Utenos district municipality, Kiauliupio village, on the Utena–Kaltanėnai–Švenčionys national road (kilometre 11.52), a Ford S-MAX ran off the road. Two people were injured — the 33-year-old driver of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 39-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Ford (7 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.14‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
