On Friday, 1 May 2020, in the afternoon at 12:15, in Anykščių district municipality, Miškiniškių I village, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 105), a Peugeot 406 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 52-year-old driver of the Peugeot (33 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (2.17‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
