On Sunday, 3 May 2020, in the afternoon at 15:12, in Mažeikių district municipality, on the Anulynai–Tirkšliai regional road (kilometre 26), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Skoda Octavia registered in Latvia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (2.42‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene.
