On Sunday, 14 June 2020, in the afternoon at 16:40, in Joniškio district municipality, on Vilniaus street near No. 34, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Volvo S40. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.47‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA).
