On Friday, 19 June 2020, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on Taikos pr. near No. 32A, at the junction with Studentų street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Skoda Fabia and a Toyota Prius. One person was injured — the 37-year-old driver of the Toyota (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 47-year-old driver of the Skoda, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (3.77‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
