On Monday, 20 July 2020, in the afternoon at around 13:00, in Šiaulių district municipality, Sutkūnų village, on the Šiauliai–Gruzdžiai–Naujoji Akmenė national road (kilometre 5.20), a collision while turning left (U-turning) occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Peugeot Boxer. One person was injured — a 69-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 37-year-old driver of the BMW (15 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
