On Tuesday, 25 August 2020, in the evening at 22:20, in Kaunas, on Jotvingių street, at the junction with Šarkuvos street, a Subaru Outback hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 74-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 35-year-old driver of the Subaru (20 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
