On Monday, 31 August 2020, at night at 4:50, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Marijampolė–Suvalkai (kelio ruožo su skir. juosta k. pusė) main road (kilometre 21), a Saab 9-3 ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Saab (36 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
