On Wednesday, 14 October 2020, in the evening at 22:10, in Prienų district municipality, on the Prienai–Skriaudžiai national road (kilometre 12.70), a vehicle hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person died — a 62-year-old pedestrian. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who failed to choose a safe speed. He fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was unlit, it was overcast, there was fog, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
