On Friday, 16 October 2020, in the afternoon at 12:15, in Ukmergės district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zarasai–Daugpilis main road (kilometre 64), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Lupo and an Opel Insignia. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 33-year-old driver of the Volkswagen, who violated overtaking rules. He was drunk, had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
