On Monday, 19 October 2020, in the afternoon at 16:15, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Vandžiogala national road (kilometre 11.93), a collision with a reversing vehicle occurred. The collision involved a Volvo V70 and a Renault Master. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 45-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (2.60‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
