On Friday, 18 December 2020, in the evening at around 17:00, in Kaunas, on L. Ivinskio street near No. 82, a side collision with neither vehicle turning occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Golf and a Skoda. One person was injured — the 60-year-old driver of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen (15 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.41‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
