On Sunday, 24 January 2021, in the evening at 20:40, in Kaunas, on Karaliaus Mindaugo pr., at the junction with Kaunakiemio street, a BMW X5 xDrive 5.0i rolled over. Two people were injured — the 26-year-old driver of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 26-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient, was not wearing a seatbelt). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
