On Wednesday, 17 March 2021, in the evening at 17:02, in Šilutės district municipality, on Darbininkų street, at the junction with E. Kanto street, a Derbi hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — the 17-year-old driver of the Derbi (hospitalized) and a 17-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 17-year-old driver of the Derbi (2 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
