On Wednesday, 7 April 2021, in the evening at 17:40, in Joniškio district municipality, on the Ryga–Šiauliai–Tauragė–Kaliningradas main road (kilometre 19), a vehicle hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by an unidentified person, who violated cargo-transport rules. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
