On Saturday, 10 April 2021, in the evening at 17:12, in Kaunas, on Panerių street near No. 222, a Renault Scenic hit a pedestrian away from any crossing. One person was injured — a 37-year-old pedestrian (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Renault (14 years of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He fled the scene. The driver was sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
