On Thursday, 15 April 2021, in the morning at around 8:00, in Kauno district municipality, Giraitės village, on Plento street, at the junction with Akacijų street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Chrysler Grand Voyager and a Skoda Superb. One person was injured — the 34-year-old driver of the Skoda (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 51-year-old driver of the Chrysler (16 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. Both drivers were sober. At the time of the accident it was overcast, a strong wind was blowing, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
