On Saturday, 8 May 2021, in the evening at around 18:00, in Vilnius, on Geležinkelio street near No. 16, a Toyota Prius hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. One person was injured — a 55-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 28-year-old driver of the Toyota (4 years of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober. A 55-year-old pedestrian was drunk (0.86‰). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
