On Monday, 31 May 2021, in the evening at around 19:00, in Lazdijų district municipality, on Dariaus ir Girėno street, at the junction with Vytauto street, an Opel hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Opel (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. She was drunk (2.23‰ blood alcohol) and fled the scene. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
