On Friday, 11 June 2021, in the morning at 10:24, in Trakų district municipality, on the Trakai–Rūdiškės–Pivašiūnai–Alytus national road (kilometre 8.48), a collision occurred. The collision involved a Skoda and an Opel Astra. Two people were injured — the 52-year-old driver of the Opel (treated as an outpatient) and a 80-year-old passenger of the Opel (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 57-year-old driver of the Skoda (30 years of driving experience), who failed to give way when crossing an intersection. He was drunk (1.90‰ blood alcohol). According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
