On Saturday, 11 September 2021, in the evening at 18:25, in Trakų district municipality, on the Trakai–Rūdiškės–Pivašiūnai–Alytus national road (kilometre 6.75), a Volvo S60 ran off the road. One person was injured — a 24-year-old passenger of the Volvo (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 21-year-old driver of the Volvo, who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.29‰ blood alcohol), had no driving licence and fled the scene. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
