On Monday, 28 June 2021, in the morning at 8:57, in Panevėžio district municipality, on the Panevėžys–Pasvalys–Ryga main road (kilometre 15), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a Volkswagen Passat and a Volkswagen Golf. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 50-year-old driver of the Volkswagen Passat (24 years of driving experience), who failed to keep a safe distance. He fled the scene. Both drivers were sober. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry.
