On Saturday, 17 July 2021, in the evening at around 19:00, in Kauno district municipality, on the Kaunas–Zapyškis–Šakiai national road (kilometre 21.91), a BMW rolled over. One person was injured — a 7-year-old passenger of the BMW (treated as an outpatient). The accident was caused by the 40-year-old driver of the BMW (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (0.75‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
