On Saturday, 2 October 2021, at night at 1:30, in Alytus, on Rūtų street, at the junction with Naujoji street, a Peugeot 307 hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 24-year-old driver of the Peugeot (less than a year of driving experience), who committed other traffic rule violations. He was drunk (1.64‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. According to the register, the at-fault driver's vehicle had no compulsory civil-liability insurance (TPVCA). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was raining, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
