On Monday, 8 November 2021, in the afternoon at 15:50, in Raseinių district municipality, on the Raseiniai–Baisogala national road (kilometre 24.79), a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved an Opel Zafira, an Opel Antara, a Schmitz SCF 24 G and a Scania R480LA. Two people died — a 42-year-old passenger of the Opel Zafira (later died from the injuries, was not wearing a seatbelt) and a 50-year-old passenger of the Opel Antara (later died from the injuries). Three people were injured — the 54-year-old driver of the Opel Zafira (treated as an outpatient), a 37-year-old passenger of the Opel Zafira (hospitalized) and a 48-year-old passenger of the Opel Zafira (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 54-year-old driver of the Opel Zafira (18 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. All drivers were sober. At the time of the accident the weather was clear, the road surface was dry. The speed limit on this section is 90 km/h.
