On Friday, 17 December 2021, in the evening at around 18:00, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road, a Ford ran off the road. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 34-year-old driver of the Ford, who failed to choose a safe speed. He had no driving licence and fled the scene. The driver was sober. At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was overcast, the road surface was wet. The speed limit on this section is 70 km/h.
