On Saturday, 25 December 2021, in the evening at 21:33, in Kupiškio district municipality, on the Daugpilis–Rokiškis–Panevėžys national road (kilometre 62.03), a BMW hit an obstacle. No one was hurt in the accident. The accident was caused by the 48-year-old driver of the BMW (22 years of driving experience), who failed to choose a safe speed. He was drunk (1.78‰ blood alcohol). At the time of the accident it was dark, the road was lit, it was snowing, the road surface was snow-covered. The speed limit on this section is 50 km/h.
