On Sunday, 9 January 2022, in the evening at 17:19, in Elektrėnų municipality, Sabališkių village, on Žilvičių street, a collision while moving in the same direction occurred. The collision involved a BMW and a Ford Galaxy. Three people were injured — the 50-year-old driver of the Ford (hospitalized), a 14-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized) and a 43-year-old passenger of the Ford (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 26-year-old driver of the BMW, who failed to keep a safe distance. He was drunk (1.82‰ blood alcohol) and had no driving licence. At the time of the accident it was twilight, there was freezing rain, the road surface was icy. The speed limit on this section is 110 km/h.
