On Sunday, 6 February 2022, in the evening at 17:40, in Marijampolės municipality, on V. Kudirkos street near No. 2, a BMW 525 D hit a pedestrian at a pedestrian crossing. Two people were injured — a 17-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized) and a 18-year-old pedestrian (hospitalized). The accident was caused by the 19-year-old driver of the BMW (1 year of driving experience), who failed to fulfil pedestrian duties. The driver was sober.
